Questions & answers

Everything you want to know before we start.

Here I answer the questions I am asked most often – openly, including the things I do not offer.

First conversation & start

How does the first conversation work?

It is free of charge and takes about 30 to 60 minutes. It can be held online, at my office in Traiskirchen or at a place of your choice – I am happy to come to your office. On-site meetings are possible within around 30 km of Traiskirchen.

How quickly do you reply, and when are you available?

I usually reply to enquiries within one working day. By phone I am available Monday to Friday from 10 am to 12 pm and Monday to Thursday additionally from 2 pm to 4 pm. You can email me any time.

Which documents do you need to start?

An ID document and a registration certificate. If your company is already in the company register, also a company register extract, and where the trade licence is registered, an extract from the trade register. Photo, PDF or paper are all fine.

When can I start?

Expect a lead time of at least two, ideally three months. I also need the final trial balance from your previous adviser as a CSV or Excel file and as a PDF. I currently have capacity; I deliberately take on only as many clients as I can look after properly.

Do you need a power of attorney?

Yes. At the start of our work together I send you a power of attorney covering all authorisations, so I can file reports and deal with the tax office and social insurance for you.

Documents & process

How do I hand over my documents?

Preferably digitally: I provide a folder you can upload your documents to. Paper is also possible but may involve additional administration effort.

Are there fixed deadlines for documents?

Yes. With monthly bookkeeping, a month's documents must reach me by the end of the following month – April documents by 31 May. With quarterly accounting: 15 days after the end of the quarter, so April to June documents by 15 July.

Which software do you use, do I need to buy anything?

I work with BMD. You do not need to buy any software.

When are your invoices due?

My invoices are due 5 days after the VAT return is filed. Example: the April VAT return is filed by 15 June, so the April care invoice is due on 20 June. For quarterly payment, the January to March invoice is due on 20 April.

Is there a minimum contract term?

The ongoing packages have a minimum term of 12 months and can then be cancelled with 3 months' notice to the end of a month. With annual prepayment, cancellation is possible at the end of the respective contract year.

Services & limits

May you prepare VAT advance returns?

Yes, I prepare and file VAT advance returns myself, and I also prepare cash-basis records and annual financial statements.

Who prepares the annual tax returns?

The income tax return E1 including attachments E1a and E1b and the corporate tax return K1 run through an authorised partner. I prepare everything needed for them.

Do you deal with the authorities?

Yes, within my professional authorisation I contact authorities such as the tax office and the social insurance institution for the self-employed. A base amount of contact is included in your package; beyond that I charge consulting time in quarter-hour increments.

What do you explicitly not offer?

Dunning, payment transactions, cash book keeping, cash register systems and stocktaking are not part of my offering.

Do you also work with associations, private individuals or farming businesses?

Yes.

Which languages do you work in?

German and English fluently, French at B2 level.

Scope: I provide bookkeeping, accounting, payroll and consulting services within my applicable professional authorisations. Where annual tax returns, cross-border tax advice, representation before authorities or other activities go beyond this, I work with my appropriately authorised partners. This way I make sure you get everything from a single source and are always well covered.

Still a question left?

Just ask – I answer personally.
